Had a hitch installed by Uhaul initially for the purpose of a bike rack. When I finally got around to hooking up a trailer for the first time, the lights didn't work.
Uhaul denied responsibility even though the wiring had never been used before. Had no alternative but to turn to their competitor who charged $246.22 to correct the problem. They informed me that Uhaul "piggy-back" connectors are prone to problems. The solution is to use modular wiring that plugs directly into vehicle receptors.
I filed a complaint with the Uhaul website and received a call from the dealer who installed the hitch.
I reiterated my claim with the dealer who said he would get back to me. This was a month ago so this call-back is unlikely to happen.
