Just want to warn folks about using U-Haul or more to the point their insurance carrier. I recently moved and since my lease was up on April 30 and my new place was not available until May 2nd I needed to pack up everything in the truck and then let it sit in the truck overnight, I researched the cost to do this and U-Haul was a bit cheaper and I do mean just a bit. The truck had a portion that jutted out over the cab as you've probably seen and as they recommended we packed most of the electronics, computer etc in that area. As we unloaded the truck we saw that that portion of the truck had leaked during a bad thunderstorm the night before and most everything was wet. We dried everything as best we could and let the agent know when we took the truck back, he checked the truck told us no problem and gave us the name of the insurance company. I had to contact them several times, before getting a response and she said that the truck had been used in another state, the very next day (amazing how the truck was not available for me to look at again) and that it had not leaked, I told her I had pictures of my damage and how wet it was and I emailed them to her, I heard nothing and after contacting her again she said she never recieved them, I then sent them
again, after several days I still hearing nothing. I contacted her yet again and was told that since the truck had not leaked on any subsequent runs that they were denying my claim. I won't use them again and I will tell everyone that will listen not to do business with them, like I said in the beginning they were only a bit cheaper and in the end, the cost was much higher.
